Cuttlefish/Squid Paratel



Yum, love this dish. 

1 kg squid - cleaned and sliced
4 tbs oil

Saute ingredients
1 large Onion
2 sprig curry leaves
1 cinnamon
1/2 tsp anise seed
Pound together - 2 in ginger and 4 clove of garlic

3 tbs fish curry powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tbs chili powder 
salt to taste

2 onion sliced and sauted - set aside.

In a wok, pour oil and the saute ingredients until the onions are tender.
Add the squid  the rest of the ingredients.
Give it a good stir and add 1/2 cup of water.
Cover the dish. Cook for about 6 min.




While the squid is cooking,  this is optional, cut one potato into cubes and  deep fry it. Set a side. 

Stir the squid till the gravy thickens up a little. Add the sauted onion and potato.
Check for seasoning.
The squid is done. Sprinkle some coriander leaves and serve with warm rice and sothi (recipe below).
