Sticky cinnamon rolls
My boys were surprised when I made the sticky version of Cinnamon bun, why wouldn't they, since it's always the regular cinnamon rolls in our house.
I must say it was a nice indulgence.
3 cups flour
1/2 cup bread flour plus extra for dusting
1 tsp salt
2 tsp fact-action dried yeast
1 cup warm milk
56g unsalted melted butter
2 egg
vegetable oil for greasing
for the filling - pls adjust to your liking
2 tbs soft butter
2 tsp ground cinnamon
for the sticky sauce
Sift the flour and salt into a large bowl. Make a well in the middle and add the yeast.Meanwhile, warm the milk and butter in a saucepan until the butter melts and the mixture is lukewarm.Add the milk mixture and egg to the flour mixture and stir until the contents of the bowl come together as a soft dough. (You may need to add a little extra flour.)
3 tbs butter
pecan or walnuts - toasted
1 tbs water
In a sauce pan add the butter, sugar and water or you may add corn syrup to a gentle boil. Add the chopped nuts and remove from heat. Pour the content over your baking pan.

Tip the dough onto a generously floured work surface. Knead for five minutes, adding more flour if necessary, until the dough is smooth and elastic and no longer feels sticky.
Lightly oil a bowl with a little of the vegetable oil. Place the dough into the bowl and turn until it is covered in the oil. Cover the bowl with cling film and set aside in a warm place for one hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
Knock the dough back to its original size and turn out onto a lightly floured work surface. Roll the dough out into a rectangle ¼in thick.
Roll the dough up into a tight cylinder, cut ten 4cm/1½in slice and place them onto the prepared baking dish. Arrange the cut up rolls.
Cover with a tea towel and set aside to rise for an hour.
Sprinkle some cinnamon over the rolls and bake in a preheated oven - 190C.

Bake the buns in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until risen and golden-brown.
When buns are baked, carefully tilt over the rolls onto a flat serving plate.
